BIOGRAPHY: The Unwanted , But Needed
( warning : animal and child abuse ; suicidal thoughts )Yún Shān ( 云山 ) is a village in mountainous terrains swallowed by solemn clouds . It resides on an island north of the land of wano and is the home of a group of devout monks . The monks acquired the mythical zoan devil fruit : neko neko no mi, model bakeneko ; in order for their strongest warrior to devour and serve as the temple's protector .Instead the fruit was eaten by a starving kitten after being left out for the consumption ritual .Knowing that killing the kitten would send the fruit elsewhere ; the monks decided to raise her as the temple's guardian . This came with a lot of rigorous training and discipline ; from education to fighting .

EDUCATION:From the ages of two to four , she was taught reading, writing, and basic arithmetic . She took a liking to reading . The temple had an extensive library, most of it was research on various subjects . Kana was interested in the fiction section ; grand stories with tales of adventure and lofty treasures . Themes of love , freedom , and identity resonated with her ; with the idea of exploring and discovering at the forefront . It was a comfort from the harsh and often unfair treatment during her studies .Her study sessions were filled with beatings from the smallest mistakes . Stick thwacks for the wrong strokes of the brush or incorrect answers in math . Her wrists usually bear the brunt .The worst was speech . Human language didn’t come naturally to her ; she spent the entire day repeating simple phonics until she either got it right or passed out from the beatings . If she passed out ; she didn’t eat .These unrealistic standards felt like a punishment rather than a means to improve faster , but it was nothing compared to the training .

TRAINING:At age five , she met the warrior who the devil fruit was meant for and the one who was in charge of training her in the art of kung-fu ; Yŭxuān (宇轩) .The young man had a never ending hatred and envy for her . His rightful destiny belonged to her ; it only was an insult to injury when HE was tasked with her training and he made sure to channel every inch of his unchecked aggression into it .The basics of kung fu were easy enough ; stamina training , stances , breathing . Hardships came in application . She was not allowed to ease into anything . She started striking at wood , rock , and metal from the beginning . Fingers , hands , toes and feet all broken week after week . She’d luck out if it was only sprained .If her hands were out of commission , she’d focus on her legs and feet and vice versa . Exercises included ; tip-toeing on an elevated plank of wood surrounded by blunt rocks for hours, tightrope walking over a vast canyon , carrying boulders up and down a steep mountain , being struck with arrows , even gassing to build lung strength .Despite the body breaking abuse she endured daily ; she was improving and fast . By the edge of ten she was among the elite fighters . At this time , one of the final phases of training was to strap a special helmet to her for two years . The device essentially blinded her, forcing her to redo her training with no sight . The second final phase was a similar device that deafened her ; which she found a lot easier ; again for two years .The third and truly final phase of her training was the introduction to chi-blocking . The technique that disrupts the natural flow of any living creature’s body . The power to stun or paralyze any part of the body with a precise strike .

OUTSIDE TRAINING:The community did not consider Kana as a person ; but as a tool for them . It’s why they were so eager to turn a blind eye to the blatant abuse happening . Despite this , upon her return , the woman did take care of her . They bathed , fed , and clothed her . They even tended to her wounds .As she grows they start chest binding her to keep her more androgynous looking ; fearing vanity from the girl . Her dark locks cut short to keep her from experiencing any form of femininity .After the basics had been taken care of , she was locked up in a cellar under the temple for the night to resume training in the morning . As she grows older ; she finds a way to leave the cellar to explore the mountains at night .In the 15 years she’d been with the community , they never named her . Residents referred to her as ‘ it ’ . She names herself : Kana (香奈) . She demands they start referring to her as Kana . Surprisingly , they do . Perhaps it was the sharp look in her eye when she said it , or the fist clenched so hard it was shaking .

ESCAPING:The temple was struck by pirates in an attempt to take the mythical zoan devil fruit. unaware it's been consumed, they slaughtered the monks .Kana had the chance to protect the temple , but she chose not to . Viewing this as her only form of escape ; she fled . Leaving everyone to perish at the hands of pirates .She fled on a small boat used by the temple elders to import and export goods ; she’d seen it on her nightly outings .Because she didn’t know how to sail , she ended up at sea for two weeks before ending up in the east blue .

TRIVIA:• In her childhood , she wrote many messages in bottles and released them to the sea .They were filled with optimism despite her circumstances .• Refers to any activity that's sole purpose is self-indulgence as ' playing ' . It's a way to reclaim her lost childhood .• Her lock picking skills are unmatched ; one of the few beings who can open celestial dragon slave collars without haki .

THE PUMA" i'd seen it. the girl transformed into four-legged beast. no. maybe she had always been a wild beast. as those luminous savage eyes gazed upon me, i knew i had to run. but, everywhere i ran, she was there. she moved so effortlessly with the terrain. and, that roar sent shivers down my spine. through belated breaths, i asked myself, how do i escape a natural born predator? kana has spent all her life trying to hide a crucial part of her identity. the human disguise she wears is nothing but smoke and mirrors, magic. parading around, endlessly hoping to be normal and loved among people who are nothing like her.the entity has brought her back to her natural state. reminded her of who she really is, a wild animal with a insatiable thirst to hunt. during the trails, she is free to be her truest-self, outside the trails, she keeps a more human-like appearance.
